Super sonic hearing.
We have the ability to be sound asleep and here a cough, sneeze, or a tiny wimper and we SPRING into action.
Ironically (after yesterdays post) last night was that night.
I've mentioned already how we transitioned Phoenix from crib to toddler bed (and pretty easily too) a few weeks ago. We actually made our own upholstered bed, for which I promised the tutorial & pictures. Hopefully by the end of the week.
Anyhow Phoenix has been sleeping in his toddler bed now for almost a month.
He's done really well with it. Only finding him asleep at the door a few times.
But last night around 2 AM I'm sound asleep and I hear the tiniest little foot steps and sit straight up and say to Shawn "I think he's in the hallway" sure enough there he was sitting on the steps. Shawn couldn't tell if he was coming up or going down.
But he was really happy to see Shawn and jumped up when he opened the door.
He joined us in our bed the rest of the night and commenced to kicking us in our face all.night.long.
But for awhile I couldn't get back to sleep because I got really nervous about what could have happened if I hadn't heard him. FYI: Shawn was the one to put him to bed so I'm sure the door wasn't all the way latched.
What if the front door had been unlocked and he figured out how to open it? What if he fell down the steps (although he is a pro)? What if, What if, What IF?!
Super Fearless Moms have super sonic ears!
P.S. Tomorrow I start watching my niece Penelope on Wednesdays. Pray for me! A toddler and an infant!! Plus I've put off all my work this week and had plans to do it tomorrow, plus I have major organizing too and still have guests in town. Maybe I shouldn't be up blogging at 11 considering she's coming at 5a huh?
