I have finally decided to stop being lazy and bring back the much requested (by those voices in my head) Bloggerazzi feature of BTBW.

For the grand re-opening (really I'm a nerd) I wanted to bring a true power house. A internet force. "Kit" of Blogging Dangerously. If you're on Twitter you probably know a bit about Ms. Kit here. She gets put in Twitter jail and host weekly #winepartys.

I can't remember how I found her blog but she truely is hysterical. Did you notice the quotations I put around her name? That's because her real name isn't Kit.

"Kit" has created a completely anonymous blog where she writes about everything I would want to but because my mom, grandmother, mother-in-law, Pastor, and other various IRL people read my blog I steer clear of these topics. But that's ok because "Kit" gives much more to these taboo topics then I ever could.

Disclaimer: If you consider yourself very reserved or refer to sex wth your husband as "The Act of Marriage" I would highly suggest you NOT read this interview (She says the "O" word) and certainly wouldn't suggest you read her blog. But if you like crude humor and being shockingly awesome and taboo and totally inappropriate check her out because you'll love it! 

What gave you the idea to start Blogging Dangerously?

I had another blog that I was really enjoying but there were a lot of things I couldn't say because I was afraid that it would get back to people.  I thought that if I had an anonymous blog I could treat it more like a true diary.

If you could only choose one bad baby sitter for your kids for the rest of their childhood what would it be, TV or video games?

Video Games because at least video games require puzzle solving skills, hand-eye coordination and interaction. 

 Since you write a lot about sex its only fitting I ask a sex question right? What is the number one thing you think couples can do so sex doesn't become a chore?

Don't make an appointment for sex.  If you feel like you have to do it you won't want to do it - even if you were in the mood all day.  Of course if you wait until the time is PERFECT you'll never have sex either - so wait until conditions are favorable (not absolutely perfect) and then GO FOR IT!

One random fact about yourself?  

I haven't eaten chocolate since 1989.

 It's 5 PM and after surfing the net all day, Tweeting, and blogging you realize you have to feed your kids. What's your go to meal?

I am totally Obsessive Compulsive so my goto meal is whatever is on the calendar for the day.  Sunday is grilled cheese, Monday is Chicken, Tuesday is pasta, etc...

 What's your favorite thing to do with your husband (besides knocking boots < do the "kids" still say that?)

My husband is a stay at home dad so my favorite thing to do is to listen to him tell stories of what my children did or said that day. 

What does your husband think about your uncensored blog? 

My husband thinks it's funny - just as long as I never 'come out' and reveal who HE is.

The house is empty. Your kids are with friends. Your husband is out of town. What do you do? 

Just the thought of that PARALYZES me with the possibilities.  I would probably orgasm (can I say orgasm on your blog?) and then "try to get something done"; work, blogging, even getting through my magazine pile!

What are you hoping to get for Mothers Day? And please be honest none of those "Aww just more time with my kids" answers.

As the breadwinner and bookkeeper in the family I dont really get excited by large purchases.  This definitely takes the fun out of Christmas, Birthdays and Mother's Day! I got a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a sweet card.  I love diamonds and would love an anniversary band/mother's ring at some point but not now.

Is Blogging Dangerously your only blog? If not what's the URL to the OTHER blog? You have to tell! I'm dying to know!!!

Bloggerazzi Blogger is Naomi at Organic Motherhood with Cool Whip

Naomi de la Torre is a stay-at-home mom to two delightful boys, ages 2 and 5. She and her amazing and wonderful husband are recovering salsa dancing addicts, who now enjoy "controversial" parenting techniques like co-sleeping, homeschooling, extended-breastfeeding, etc. Naomi is writing a book called Organic Motherhood with Cool Whip: The Field Guide, for which her blog is a working model. She deeply appreciates her followers and uses their feedback to shape her writing.

Naomi's blog is meant to uplift and empower moms who are trying to do the very best for their children, but who can't always live up to being the perfect über mom. It won't provide magic ruby slippers that will take you back to Kansas (before you had stretch marks, hemorrhoids and all your furniture was coated with applesauce and smashed peas). But it does offer companionship, humor, and even a few flying monkeys as we face each day with all the insanity, joys, and challenges that are inherent to motherhood.

How much TV a week do you let your kids watch?

Unfortunately, I've completely lost my morals when it comes to TV. Before I had kids I planned to have them on a strict diet of high quality, low-fat, gluten-free, commercial-free, educational programming. But then real life kicked in and I fell off the TV restriction wagon. Now my kids watch about 2 hours of TV a day and 80% of it is Sponge Bob.

Sex life better before kids or better now or about the same?

Sex life is definitely trickier now that we have kids. Our boys (ages 2 and 5) sleep with us, so we have to get creative. Not to mention my mom lives with us too ... so steamy sex in the middle of the living room is kind of out of the question. Bathroom and closet sex is extra spicy, though.

Do you have a regular date night with your husband?

We are very lucky because my fantastic sister-in-law and my loving mom regularly offer to babysit for us. We get to go to movies, dinner, and even salsa dancing on occasion (which is our absolute favorite).

Favorite household chore?

Least favorite household chore?

Cleaning the toilet. And doing laundry. Yesterday my husband folded about 30 loads of clean laundry that I had skillfully piled into an artistic sculpture in our back bedroom--and which was threatening to take over that entire wing of the house.

Favorite family activity?

Just being together is the best. We like to go to museums, the zoo, the aquarium, the arboretum, parks, swimming pools, etc. We have passes to all the local kid joints around Dallas and try to hit up a couple of these places each week.

How much sleep do you honestly get at night?

I'm a sleep junkie and would love to get at least 8 or 9 hours a night. But, unfortunately, neither of my boys need much sleep. And on top of that, we co-sleep. Since my 2 year old is still nursing, my sleep is still pretty broken. But I love cuddling with my sweeties, all three of them, for at least 7-8 hours a night. Even if we do look like a pile of puppies in a big heap with heads and feet and elbows sticking out all over the place.

Come on admit it! You pick your kids' boogers right?

Yes, of course. And then I eat them.

 Kids' TV show that doesn't bore the heck outta ya?

I love iCarly and so do both of my boys. Who knows what my 2 year old gets out of this show???

H1N1 vaccine...are your kids getting it? If yes, do you feel enough research has been done? If no, why not?

I have not vaccinated my boys for H1N1, nor have they been vaccinated according to the standard American vaccines schedule. My husband and I have done extensive research on the risks of vaccinations, as well as having a friend whose son was injured by vaccines and became autistic. We are currently considering which vaccines we might want to give our older son, now that he is 5 and his immune system is better developed. If we do, they would be given in single dose vaccines without the preservative thimerasol.

Everyday Mama Drama & Moving on from the Drama

My name is Amy and I am a 30 something, Midwest, suburban mommy to a beautiful little girl named Kaitlynn.  Family and friends describe me as strong, passionate, opinionated, empathetic, loyal, good listener, kind, slapstick sense of humor, goofy and bubbly.  I am married to my best friend, Dave.  We met at a social services agency that we were both working at in 2001. 

Before becoming a mommy, my background was in retail and social services. Dave and I got engaged in May of 2004.  He rented a Jaguar, my favorite car, and took me to my favorite park to propose.  How great is that?  We were married in November of 2004.  We found out we were pregnant with Kaitlynn the day after Father's Day (in 2006).  We were blessed with the miracle of her birth on February 23, 2007.  

The interesting thing about her being born in February, is that both of our birthdays are in February.  My birthday is the 13th and his is the 11th.  Several months after Kaitlynn's birth, it was decided that I would be a SAHM.  It has been a struggle to make it work financially.  Dave is working full-time and in school part-time pursuing his MBA with a focus on finance.  I have been an Avon Representative for 10 years (on and off).  

In January of 2009, I started providing part-time childcare in our home. I am on several local mommy boards and am addicted to blogging.  I started blogging in December of 2007 on my blog Everyday Mama Drama.  In July of this year, I decided to move to a different blog, Moving On From The Drama.  I still keep both blogs up-to-date, but do more posting on the newer one.

My blogs can be described as mommy blogs.  I write about activities we do around town, classes or groups we are involved in, friends, family, product reviews, some giveaways and best of all about Kaitlynn.  I have learned my lesson about being too personal, but strive to make my blogs a true reflection of my life.  

 Alexandria: If you could take your family on an all expense paid    trip for 3 weeks where would you go?

 

Amy: Hawaii.  We would visit all of the islands.  When my husband and I went in 2004, we visited 3 of the islands (Maui, Kauai and Oahu).  Kauai was our favorite of the 3.  We would love to visit the other islands, especially The Big Island.

 

Alexandria:  What is your favorite TV show to watch with your significant other?

 

Amy: We used to watch The Office, How I Met Your Mother and Grey's Anatomy, but we just can't seem to find the time to watch these shows anymore, much less watch them together.

Alexandria: Ever thought about homeschooling your children?

 

Amy: I have thought about homeschooling Kaitlynn.  What really drives that is when I hear about bad things happening at schools.  I think the mother in me, just wants to protect her from all harm.

 

Alexandria: Do you have a favorite book?

 

Amy: The DaVinci Code and The Purpose Driven Life.  I am really into self-help and parenting books.  Anything that can give me a better understanding about myself, my family and / or how to be a better wife and mother.  I also like mystery and suspense.

 

Alexandria: Quick! Your grocery shopping and your baby throws up all over you! How do you handle the situation?

 

Amy: I would probably leave the store and either come back later or my husband would do the shopping later.  As a mommy, I am used to having food, throw up, etc on my clothes, but not all over me.  I just don't think I could walk around the store like that and be able to focus on what I needed to purchase.  Hopefully I brought a change of clothes for the baby!

 

 

 

Alexandria: Mini van, Sedan, or SUV momma?

 

Amy: I'm a Sedan Momma, but I would really like to be in the Mini Van Momma's Club.

 

Alexandria: What's your favorite dinner to cook?

 

Amy: Mexican - spanish rice and bean burritos or tacos.  Sometimes instead of the burritos or tacos, I will make quesadillas, nachos or taco salads.   

 

Alexandria: Thing you hated most about being pregnant?

 

Amy: Having Gestational Diabetes.  When I received this diagnosis, I felt horrible.  I was so afraid of how it was going to affect our baby.  Thankfully, I was able to control it with my diet, but the guilt was tremendous.

 

Alexandria: Do you have any holiday traditions you do?

 

Amy: Holidays are very important to us as family is everything to us.

Memorial and Labor Day weekends, we attend a local Greek Festival.

Fourth of July, we spend at my aunt's in the country.

In celebration of Halloween (and fall), we go to Eckert's Farm to pick a pumpkin (and apples), as well as several other pumpkin patches, we attend Spooky Saturday and Boo at the Zoo, and Grant's Farm Halloween event.  On Halloween, we have chilli for dinner.

For Thanksgiving dinner, we make stuffing that was my grandma's recipe.

For Christmas Eve, we attend midnight service.  Christmas morning is just for us (my husband, daughter and me).
 
Alexandria: Do you think the "Balloon Boy"'s family should be charged criminally?

Amy: Yes, I do.  I think it was all made up by the father.  I also think Family Services needs to step in and make sure the children are not being abused or neglected.

Bloggerazi- Rebekah

One of my favorite new blogs is High-Heeled foot in the door she does something each week called "In her shoes" which highlights the day of a particular blogger's day.

Then when I was featured on Pink Nothings last week I thought it would be fun to do the same thing here on Before The Baby Wakes.

I went back and forth, back and forth (aww don't you love that book) on the format and decided to do an interview style with the blogger.
The interviews will run each Saturday (hopefully) and won't be a regular "What's your favorite color?" or "How many kids do you have?" questions.

I wanted to make it fun for the interviewee to answer and fun for YOU to read.

My husband read over the questions and started answering them for HIMSELF. He thought it would be fun to be interviewed too. So look for him to make his appearance! Yikes!

Bloggerazzi Blogger is Rebekah at Outnumbered

I'm outnumbered. Even the dog is a boy. Three sons dictate my life. No pink. No hair clip drawer. No princess movies. Cars, cars, and more cars. Sound effects at the dinner table. Dirt. Wrestling. Spiderman. Secretly---I love it. This is my life...these three boys, my muses. My husband, an added bonus.

 Alexandria: You spend way too much time in Target today and you are just pulling into your driveway at 5:30. What do you cook for dinner or do you dig out the delivery menus?

Rebekah: Well, if I'm really good I have a crockpot meal going, but that is only when I'm really good.  Delivery menus are not an option for us as we live in the middle of no where, sort of.  I resort to my quick n' easy meals on days like this.

1.  Tomato soup and grilled cheese

2.  Frozen pizza

3.  Pancakes and eggs 

But truthfully, I would never be allowed to stay at Target that long.  My boys would get us kicked out long before 5:30.

Alexandria: Are you an organic momma or a “Whatever keeps them from screaming” momma?

Rebekah: I'm a "Whatever is best for them" mamma.  I remember a girl in my 6th grade class whose mother was "green" before her time.  That poor girl.  She wanted all of our food so bad.  My Ding-dong went missing from my lunch for two weeks solid.  Finally I found my Ding-dong in her jaws as see munch in secret hidden underneath the coats in the class coat closet.  All of her mother's hopes and aspirations for a healthy child backfired.  I am a big fan of moderation and balance.  All children should be allowed to experience a fruit snack and cupcake, but all children should also experience home cooked healthy meals and food choices.

I'm actually quite organic as I have a huge garden and orchard and we can all summer long.  Then we eat from our preserves all winter.  I love it.  But sometimes I do crave a nasty cheeseburger from McDonalds.

Alexandria: Favorite product to use to fight stains? 

Rebekah: A blind eye. We wash and wear regardless.

Alexandria: It’s been a really stressful day and it’s only 12:45. How do you recharge your batteries?

Rebekah: A nap, tea, reading, Facebook...

Alexandria: Favorite part of being a mommy?

Rebekah: Seeing, experiencing the power of unconditional love.

Alexandria: Are you done having kids?

Rebekah: Oh yes....we obviously only make one kind...male, and I'm ready to embrace and live into my family that is here and living!  I'm ready for family vacations, sporting events, game night etc.

Alexandria: Did you enjoy being pregnant?

Rebekah:  Nope.  Yes.  Almost.  I loved feeling life grow.  I loved seeing my body become womanly.  However, I don't miss it.  I am slowly reclaiming my body and soon hope to say goodbye to the muffin top. Oh, and being sick for 20 weeks plus wasn't a high point either.

Alexandria: Did you know instinctively what you wanted to name your kids or did you go back and forth over a lot of different ones?

Rebekah: Always had my girl name...Elsie Magdalina....boys names, not as easy.  It was hard each time.  We resorted to the same Swiss German website as we tried to keep the names all matching with their dad's, Hans.  Even after my oldest was born I had doubts about his name. It didn't help that my husband and I are both school teachers.....oh all those bad kids....

Alexandria: Would you ever considering hiring a nanny a few days a week so you could have “alone” time and if so what would you want to do?

Rebekah: I would write!  I used to hire a gal to watch my kids while I tutored.  That was great, but it wasn't my time. I was still giving, giving, giving.

Alexandria: How long had you been married before you had kids?

Rebekah: 7 glorious, wonderful, needed years!  No regrets!  It was all part of our plan. I highly recommend it.  As much as I love my kids, I love the man I married too, and I crave his time and attention.  We both have quality time as our primary love language.  As soon as our last boy graduates we are buying motorcycles and taking a road trip to Alaska!

Alexandria: How do you feel about Barack Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize this early in his presidency?

Rebekah: Well, initially my husband texted me the big news about Obama.  My text back was, "WHAT?" I wondered for what?  This is nothing against Obama.  He didn't vote for himself.  I was thinking about individuals that I feel represent peace making like Ghandi and Mother Theresa.  I thought, "I think some Dr. who's been working in Darfur for the last decade should receive this recognition.

I thought he responded well in his acceptance speech, saying that he was going to take this as a call to action to fullfill lasting peace etc.  I thought he used wisdom in his speech.  But, I have to agree that it almost seemed like a slap in the face to all those people who work in the trenches to achieve peace around the word.
