Eesh, Eesh. Eesh

Eesh....I don't even know what words to start with. Is Eesh even a word? Probably to some toddler or something right?

The last 72 hours has made me feel like a huge 4-wheeler truck has hit me. But then backed up and unloaded a truck full of rocks and hot lava.

I had every intention of waking up Friday morning and spending a beautiful day at the zoo (O.M.G I started typing beach instead of zoo. I need a vacation.) with my guys (and we did do just that) but all the while I felt like I had the world sitting on my shoulders.

And every time I thought that the stress, anxiety, and fear would lift that sneaky little truck came barreling down the highway again.

I know I'm being vague instead of just coming out and saying what's going on and my blog "motto" is to always be transparent. And normally I would but because this involves other people its not my place to share everything on the web. But it's been an emotionally rough couple of days.

And to top it off I put my husband on a plane for 3 weeks a few hours ago. We've never been away this long and it happened right at the moment I needed him to stay and sit with me both. But he needs to work so I begrudgingly put him on a plane and cried all the way home....

Until I started shaking because I hit a DEER!

Have you ever hit a deer before? I haven't. I was driving back up the mountain and it was foggy and out of nowhere Bambi's mom comes dashing across the road. I let out the highest pitch yell and watch the think flip and fly across my car. I would have gotten out to make sure the poor thing was ok, but I was on a mountain, by myself, at night. With my 19 mth old in the backseat. Didn't seem wise.

I was so shaken up that when I pulled into my parents driveway just a few miles ahead I had to go in and get someone else to carry Phoenix in because I thought I might pass out!

To prove how shaken I have been the last few days I had to make a pit stop for a "Pas" (pacifer) after leaving the airport. Phoenix had devoured a bag of M&M's and had chocolate everywhere, normally I would have hosed him down before we made the 4 minute stop in the CVS but I was so ready to get home and stop thinking that I didn't care if the check-out girl thought I was an unfit mom because of the state my child was in.

I haven't had a good nights sleep since Thursday and with my husband gone I'm not sure I will anytime soon. So if you believe in prayer I'd appreciate a prayer tonight that God puts me in a deep slumber (and Phoenix too!) tonight.

This too shall pass....right?

Long week revisited

Please bless me readers for I have sinned. It's been 4 days since my last blog post and I feel terrible and LAZY!

I had a post I was working on Thursday but for whatever reason never got it up.

I could say that I have been extremely busy putting my house in order and making meals for my family. But the truth is. Shawn has been extremely busy and I have been lazy.

There, I said it. I'm lazy.

Currently it is 9.45 PM on Saturday and I am exhausted! Physically and emotional.

Here's how the last few days have played out.

Wednesday-
My little niece Nelzabug arrived at 5a, but luckily slept until 8a. I was admittedly very nervous about how I would be able to handle a newborn and Phoenix, but it was smooth sailing most of the day. The worst part was when Phoenix tried to play drums on her and kept ripping at her ears saying "Ear, Ear"

Thursday-
Got into an hour and a half screaming match with one of my supervisors at work. Surprisingly they didn't fire me although I repeatedly told them to. Of course this caused me to feel nothing in terms of wanting to work and I spent most of the day with a splitting headache because of said argument.

Friday-
I woke up very excited for Friday because for the first time in 2 weeks I was actually going to be able to spend time with Shawn. But that was quickly dashed when he told me he had to go back to DC (where he spent over 10 hrs at the day before) to see a sound engineer for mixing. Then I was crushed even more (and moved to actual tears) when I found out that some people had stolen some music from Shawn and was purposely causing us trouble (Per our attorney this will be rectified. Vengeance is mine saith the Lord!). Then my husband suggested the lovely idea of Phoenix and I spending the day with him in DC at the studio. Which started at 3 PM and didn't get us home until 2:30 AM! Thank God Phoenix slept the entire evening and we took a few hours break to hit the mall.

But then the icing on the cake was when we get a call from our landlord telling us he was indeed selling the house. The only thing that made this bearable was that he didn't give us proper notice so we're good until April 31st AND he's giving us February free.

Our goal is to take possession February 15th of the new place. Paint and move in March 1st.

I cried when I found out because this house really does feel like home to me and I really hate moving. But I'm going to try and keep things in perspective and trust God has bigger and better for us.

Also our washer decided to break today after I've been trying to wash a load since Thursday and couldn't figure out why it wasn't draining. So until we move I'll be doing laundry at my parents.  Yippee!

We head to NYC early, early, early Monday morning for Cody Simpson meetings and a showcase (mini concert) that Shawn would like me to help coordinate.

If you have tween aged girls who are in to Justin Bieber (they'll LOVE Cody) and in the area certainly stop by. Super talented kid. Details of the showcase on his YouTube

The fight that ruined the burgers

*UPDATE 1: If you read this post shortly after I wrote it out you would have counted, not one or two but at least 3 or 4 grammatically incorrect words, sentences or phrases.

*UPDATE 2: Date night/Re Do Thursday Night and decided to stay in and redo the burgers while reading great books we picked up from the library and catching up on TV shows. Followed by chocolate chip cookies. Diet has completely fallen by the waste side the last week. Back on it Monday. But for now, enjoying my food.

Yesterday was just one of those days. For starters, Phoenix's morning nap was interrupted by the darn recycle pick up. He was only sleep about 20 minutes and then they show up and he was back wide awake! So for most of the day I tried tiring him out so he would want to take another nap, this did not happen. By mid afternoon Shawn and I had a bit of a disagreement. I was trying to convince him (like always) why my way was better and trying to get him to see the bigger picture of a particular situation. This ended up in us spending the rest of the afternoon apart which was fine, because I then had to chase Phoenix up and down the stairs. So I grabbed my Coach bag and we headed to Walmart to buy a gate.

By this time everything was kosher with Shawn and I. I had stopped by to see my parents and called Shawn and asked him to peel and cut Phoenix sweet potato for his french fries (just add a bit of salt, cinnamon and cinnamon sugar and they are much better then the other recipe I posted). They take 30 minutes to cook and I knew I would at least be an hour so I wanted him to cook them so all I had to do was throw on the burgers for dinner. BUT this did NOT happen and it ended up being a much bigger fight then I anticipated and turned my house upside down! I needed ice so I stupidly break the bag in the kitchen that sends the ice all across the floor. Then it's time for dinner and I break a full glass of lemonade. While trying to yell at Shawn and get dinner on the table I then slip and fall hard on the spilled ice!

It was an absolute mess! I went to bed with the house a disaster. I'm not one of those people who can leave dishes until the next day. It messes with me, but last night I did. My house was a mess when I woke up this morning, the kitchen smelled like onions and I had the biggest headache ever.

Thankfully we made up and pitched in and got a bunch done this morning!

On the menu last night were these delicious Roasted Garlic Turkey Burgers. I hate when we have a good dinner planned and it gets ruined by a stupid lovers quarrel. I could definitely tell these burgers had AWESOME culinary potential but by the time I went to eat it mine was cold :-( good, but cold.

Instead of using blue cheese (not fond of it) I used swiss cheese and put the swiss cheese on top of the onion & mushroom mixture and popped it in the oven to melt while the burgers were finishing.

Also toasted the rolls and used some leftover garlic butter and I did use ground turkey breast. I think I'll be trying these again next week!

Let me know what you think!
