Rip roaring winter boredom

How are you North Easterners doing with the snow? We're dying over here of pure boredom and sleeping on the couch (I'll explain in a minute). 


The snow finally died down yesterday evening but all night long we experience rip-roaring winds that sent the snow flying everywhere creating 10 FT snow drifts here in Frederick County. 

While watching the news (Which was on all day. And they interrupted my All My Children & General Hospital for it.) they start running stories about peoples roofs collapsing.


So what does my husband say at 11 as we climb in bed? "I think we should sleep down stairs...ya know...in case the roof caves in"


It's not like we live in house thats 30 plus years old with a decaying roof! It was built in 2006! I think we'll be fine.


But these death daggers is what sent him over the edge.

This is also the same man who has explained to me how I need to get in the refrigerator if there's ever a chemical weapons attack. 


::shakes head at my paranoid husband::


The sun finally came out today (and it was pretty warm I might add) but there was NO slow plow in sight so our over zealous neighbors dug out the entire cul-de-sac. Shawn and I just managed to dig out our steps and then we went in.

Yes we are using a boot leg plastic shovel. 

Never "upgraded" after this emergency purchase in December following our first blizzard. 

I am so ready to "wash" myself of winter and bring in spring!

  

More $!&%(#@ snow?!

Here in the DC area we are swimming in about 30 inches of snow (what we got in Frederick). There is more snow on the ground then I have ever thought possible. The last big storm we got I was so excited, but now I'm totally ready to pour huge buckets of steaming hot water to melt all of this white powder and move on with my life!

At this very moment yet another storm of this year is falling. Friday we went to the mountain, today we decided to stay home and get some packing done. March will be here before I know it!

Baby's First Snow!

It's 7:50 AM here and I've been up since 3 AM! Phoenix slept most of the night and I struggled with going to sleep so at 4 decided to get up and get some work done that I didn't do yesterday. Me & The Husband are sick and decided to take a nap yesterday for a few hours and I hardly did any work. Phoenix has a slight cold as well and I feel so bad for him! His little voice sounds all raspy. Anywho I decided to get up at 4 and then Phoenix decided he wanted to snuggle and woke up and nursed and has been napping with me on the couch since 4 AM.


Yesterday we FINALLY got some real snow. Phoenix was at his Yaya's house during the day so I missed getting him pictures while it was falling so here is our lame attempt at trying to catch pictures with him and the snow.

Notice his totally uninterested face. He does this face a lot in pictures...hmm....
