Kaiser Permanente

A new addition arrived at our house today...Her name is Kaiser Campbell (although I will call her Kaiser Permanente. Just like the insurance company. Coooool name) and she's 12 weeks old. We named her that before we knew she was going to be a girl. She's a yellow lab/golden retriever/and something else mix. Just like us so we knew she'd be perfect! As cute as she is she's a little timid. She got here this afternoon and hasn't barked the whole time! And she won't come near anyone really and won't walk. It's the strangest thing. She just curls under the kitchen table and lays down. I took Kaiser and Phoenix to the park with my mom and little sisters and brothers and their dog Copper (a beagle) and Copper and Kaiser hit it off right from the start. In fact Copper acted as if he was an inmate just released from prison and hadn't seen a girl in 20 years! There was even another little dog that was sniffing around Copper and Kaiser kind of raised up at the other dog and then put her paw around Coppers neck! I think we've determined that she must miss her family desperately and found comfort around Copper. There also seems to be a sly chance that maybe her breeders weren't that nice because when you try and rub her she ducks like she think's she's being hit. I hope that wasn't the case. But hopefully she'll come out of her shell soon!


Also today was my first weigh in with Weight Watchers and I was really discouraged because I didn't think that I did that well. I started Monday instead of Saturday and two nights we ordered out. But surprisingly I lost 2.4 pounds! I was so excited and motivated to really stay on track and even add in exercise at this rate those cute Juicy bathings suit's I've seen at Nordstroms won't be so far off!

Yay my hubby!

Flu

My poor little baby has the flu :-( we went to a Superbowl part on Sunday and somehow I think he caught a bug there. Monday he was very whiny and clingy and trying to eat every hour. I first wrote it off to being a growth spurt or teething, Tuesday the same thing but then he was falling asleep a lot. So I took his temperature at 8 P.M. and it was 101.1. I gave him some infants Tylenol to reduce the fever and checked on him through the night. At 3 A.M. he kept waking taking his paci and falling asleep for a few minutes ad waking up crying. Finally at about 4:30 I brought him in to bed with us and we all went back to sleep until 7:30. At 8 I took his temperature again and it was 103.2. So I called my mom (who I use as my personal baby guide of course! I mean hello...she raised 8 kids. She knows a thing or two) and she said to take him to the ER so we did and we were there for a few hours and after an Xray and other doctor medical things the prognoses was the flu. I feel so bad for my poor little baby, it has been nice though because all he wants to do is snuggle on me which I love. I picked up some Pedialyte on the way home and some infant Motrin and it seems to be doing the trick because now he is on the floor playing with his get well balloon from his YaYa.

Yesterday was my first full day on Weight Watchers. Not as bad as it could be obviously. But I realized today that it's very important that I eat what the call Filling Food's because if not I'm crawling the walls come 3 o'clock looking for a fix. So last night I went to Safeway (Gosh I really really heart Safeway) and stocked up on veggies and fruit and eggs and stuff. For breakfast I had a 1 egg, 1 egg-white omelet with red peppers and a bit of cheese which was actually really good. And for lunch is turkey and roasted red pepper sandwiches. Yum!


Yesterday Phoenix and I were supposed to go to our first 0-15 month playgroup but Phoenix woke up in a very "needy mood" so we didn't go. Tomorrow however we are going to our first Gymboree Class so hopefully he'll be in a better mood tomorrow afternoon. This morning though he did the cutest thing. He woke up at about 7:30 and got in bed with me and him I went in and out of sleep for about 30 minutes. Then Daddy comes back in the room and Phoenix does this little wave thing, takes out his paci with his hand and hands it to me. No joke! Then he starts trying to sit up to see Shawn. Then after he see's Shawn he lays back down and starts hitting at my breast for milk. It was the cutest thing ever!!!

Recession

The economy has been bad for awhile and although that sucks I personally have been fortunate to not have had to feel the pressure of it like other Americans. But tonight I was finally touched by it....

My favorite baby website Baby Style was shut down today :-(

All last week they had a page up that said they were working on it and gave out a special 10% off coupon code...

But tonight it went down....

Anyone have any good recommendation's on a good baby shopping site????
